The successful candidates will possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities in their respective subject areas to:

  •       Collaborate with learning community members to establish and maintain comprehensive, coordinated school health plans, policies, and activities;

  •       Engage in research and evaluation of school health services in order to act as a change agent for school health programs and school nursing practices;

  •       Serve as a liaison health professional between the home, school and community and act as a resource person in promoting health careers;

  •       Participate in the identification and assessment of students with learning challenges and assist with development and implementation of intervention strategies for students in need;

  •       Conduct student health assessments;

  •       Carry out or supervise mandated and other health screening programs, and counsel parents regarding indicated follow-up;

  •       Assess and coordinate health and immunization records;

  •       Participate in emergency response planning and school safety efforts.
