Work Permits
(All Schools)

Work permits will be issued by the Counseling Office at each school site.  When the Counseling Office is closed during summer, a work permit can be obtained at the El Dorado Union High School District Office, Human Resources Department (Building E), at the address above.  Students must present the completed form Statement of Intent to Employ Minor and Request for Work Permit (form #B1-1) to receive their work permit.  If you have any questions, please contact the Counseling Office at your respective school or the Human Resources Department at the District Office at (530) 622-5081, ext. 7228.

The passage of AB 354 requires that all students in grades 7-12 will need proof of a Tdap booster shot. If you have any questions regarding this law, please contact your doctor's office or the El Dorado County Public Health Department at (530) 621-6100.

Registration for
New Students

To make an appointment with the Registrar, contact the Counseling Office at ext. 1029 or 1028, or e-mail Registrar Sandra Atkins.  Walk-in registration will not be accepted.

Registration without a counselor is available from July 11  through July 22.  Registration forms are available on-line at http://cougar.eduhsd.net, in the Counseling Office, or can be mailed upon request.

Appointments with a counselor are available from July 23 through August 7.  Call ahead for an appointment time, ext. 1028 or 1029.

Class Schedules

New students may pick up their schedule at Orientation on Tuesday, August 6 in exchange
for your completed emergency card

Returning students may pick up their schedule on Friday, August 2, only between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm, in front of the school's main office in exchange for a completed Emergency Card.

Students who do not pick up their schedule on August 2 can turn in their completed Emergency Card and pick up their schedule on the first day of school (August 8),
between 7:30 and 9:30 am in front of the large gym.

Schedule changes will not be made unless the change involves a course required for graduation.  Requests for elective changes will not be accepted.  All students must follow the class schedule they receive on the first day of school.

Freshmen and new students will receive their class schedule at the Freshman, New Student, Parent Orientation on August 6,  during the designated times below:

New parent orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, during the designated times below:

Class Schedules

Returning students may pick up their class schedules in the Cafeteria on August 8 between 11:30 am and 3 pm  or on the first day of school at  7:30 am.

All students, all grades, must turn in their completed Emergency Card, signed Acknowledgment of Notification of Parent Information, signed Anti-Discrimination/Hazing/ Harassment Policy, and signed Technology User Agreement formto receive their schedule.

All forms and information are included in the summer packet you will receive in late July.

Orientation for freshmen, new students, and parents is Tuesday, August 6, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.  and includes the following schedule: 

  • 4:30 to 5:30 pm:  Complimentary dinner on the patio.  During this time students can pick up their information packet and class schedules on the patio.

  • 5:30 to 6:15 pm:  Parents will meet with administration in the Theater.

  • 5:30 to 6:15 pm:  Freshmen and new students will meet with our Activities Director, Mrs. Slinger, in the West Gym.

  • 6:15 to 7:00 pm:  Students and parents reunite in the East Gym then go to the Market Place to gather information on ASB discount cards, bus passes, music program, lunch programs, and to purchase yearbooks, purchase PE clothes, purchase UM apparel, etc.

Class Schedules All students will receive a preview of their courses included in the summer newsletter.  Also, all returning students can view their schedule on-line by linking to 'Parent/Student ABI Access Web Page' from the Union Mine Home Page.  Students will receive their class schedule on the first day of school.

Changes

 

Returning students may make course changes in writing by submitting their request to the Counseling Office before August 1, or by e-mail to Mrs. DeRosa.  This request must include the course to be dropped, the course to be added, and the reason for the change request and PARENT PERMISSION.

Students are to follow the class schedule they receive on the first day of school. No schedule changes will be made during the first week, with the exception of incorrect class placement or an unbalanced academic schedule.  Note: A parent's e-mail address will suffice for the required parent signature for all course changes submitted by e-mail.  Otherwise, a parent signature is required for course changes.
 

Comments

On the first day of school (August 8), all grades (9-12) will report to the West Gym at 7:50 a.m. for a welcome back rally.  Students are asked to sit with their grade level class.
