Scrip is a term which means "substitute money." Parents, family, and friends can earn scrip credits from participating merchants they normally shop with. The scrip credits they earn can benefit their student(s) or the approved programs their student(s) are involved in at the four comprehensive high schools within the District. Families can also begin earning for Independence High School and Shenandoah High School. The approved program for these two schools is the Associated Student Body. Participating merchants track our supporter's purchases and donate a percentage of these purchases to the District’s schools. The scrip credits are posted to individual student accounts or program accounts. The scrip credits earned in a student's account can be used towards voluntary sports donations, ASB items, Academic programs, donations to your student’s classroom, Extracurricular Programs. See below for examples of programs to which your scrip can be applied.

Each of these programs is managed separately from the others. Savemart and Food4Less require families to use a “Scrip Card.” Safeway shoppers register their Safeway Club Card with eScrip. Families that participate in Raleys/BelAir/NobHill Markets Something Extra Program will designate the organization they wish to donate to under the “Extra Credit” section of their Something Extra Account. You can participate in one of these programs or all four if you choose. Remember to ask family and friends to sign up too. The more people you have participating in these programs for your student the higher your families earning potential becomes for scrip credits.
Raley's/Bel Air/Nob Hill Foods Quality of Life Paperless Scrip
Card The Something Extra Program will allow you to receive special offers. You will also receive points when you shop. One point for every dollar spent. Every 3 months you will receive reward vouchers from Raleys that can be used toward free groceries. To learn more, visit the Something Extra Webpage for terms and conditions. To join the Something Extra Program, log on to www.somethingextra.com or www.raleys.com. Once your account is set up, go to “Extra Credit” and choose the organization you wish to donate to. Type the name of the high school in the box located under “Add Organization,” click the “Search Box”— This should bring up one or more schools choices with that name. You want the school located at 4675 Missouri Flat Rd. There should be no booster program attached to the high school. Raleys/BelAir/Nobhill also supports some of our schools parent booster programs. These programs are not a part of the District Scrip Program. When you sign up under one of these “booster” programs your student’s account will not be credited. The purpose of these programs is to raise money for their specific sport, club, or program. For example, For Sober Grad Night, Music Boosters, Athletic Boosters, etc., Raley’s/Bel Air/Nob Hill Foods absorb all administrative costs associated with the Something Extra Program so there is no charge to you. You will shop at Raleys, NobHill, and BelAir as normal. When you get to the register you will enter your "Loyalty" number to receive your special deals. (We recommend that you use your phone number as your Loyalty number.) Scrip Cards are no longer needed. Raley's new Extra Credit Scrip program will pay a 1.5% flat rate on all qualifying purchases. Please Note! Raleys will no longer provide the district or schools with a list of individual earnings per supporter. Therefore, families that choose to shop at Raleys/Nobill or BelAir will need to provide the district with a quarterly statement of earnings. Statements can be found and downloaded from the "Extra Credit" section of a family's Something Extra Account.
If you no longer have your Safeway Club Card or you use your phone number when shopping, you can call 1-800-safeway and they will look up your number for you. Frequently Asked Questions 1. When can I start having my purchases tracked for the purposes of earning scrip credits for my student? A Scrip Program Account Set-up Form can be completed for students who have reached the 7th grade. Scrip credits will be held in a single student's account or family account (if more than one student in a family) until all students listed have completed high school. 2. When and how do
I use my student's scrip credits? Scrip credits which are accumulating in all other program accounts are disbursed at the request of a parent or at the discretion of the Program Advisors. Parents may request that a check be mailed to the school for payment of student school expenses that are for an approved scrip program. There is usually a 24- to 48-hour delay in getting the check to the school. Plan accordingly! The Program Advisors are provided with printouts of their program and their student’s scrip balances and may make deductions at any time during the school year. These deductions may be made on behalf of an individual student for expenses or for the benefit of their programs as a whole. Please contact the Program Advisors or Scrip Coordinator for information on what expenses your scrip credits can be used for. 3. How do I know how much scrip is in my student's account? You may call the Scrip Coordinator in the El Dorado Union High School District Office at 530.622-5081, ext. 7234, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may also contact the Scrip Coordinator via e-mail. 4. Can I transfer scrip credits to another student or program? Scrip credits can be transferred between students and/or programs as long as there is a balance. Simply contact the Scrip Coordinator at 530.622-5081, ext. 7234, who will make the transfers for you. 5. What happens to the scrip credits upon the graduation of my student? When a student graduates, the unused scrip credits will be transferred into the account of a sibling, another student, or a school program. Parents can write down their preference or phone in the information to the Scrip Coordinator. If no parent request is made by July 1st in the year the student graduates, the unused scrip credits will be transferred into a work program account, based on the type of scrip account the student had on file. For example, A student earning money for an athletic account will donate any unused scrip credits to the school's general athletic account. Please Note! Families can and are encouraged to continue their participation in the District Scrip Program after all of their children have graduated from high school. Scrip credits earned as a Community Supporter can benefit the program of your choice. Funds earned for these programs go to assist students in meeting their high school expenses when their families are experiencing Economic hardship. The Athletic Directors and Program Advisors appreciate your continued support of their programs through your scrip donations. Download the Scrip Program Participation Checklist
